I had no choice but to go on immediate sick leave. This incident occurred in June 2009 and through the remainder of the year life just didn't get any better. Homeless due to dry rot at my apartment and being left alone by my partner at Christmas meant that I had to make a decision - New Year 2010 saw me decide to change my life forever. By August 2010 I had renovated my apartment, trained as a life coach and started my own business 'Awaken' life coaching.I achieved this with a lot of help and support, medication and the use of self help positive thinking / visualisation techniques. In June 2011 I commenced the writing of 'Made it thru the rain' - a book that chronicles my journey through the last two years. It is written to inspire those who are suffering with depression and those who live with sufferers it is my hope it will bring an understanding of the condition.
